Unity Learning Center

Design Concept: The Unity Learning Center project envisions a dynamic interactive space, fostering intergenerational connections through shared educational experiences. This learning center will offer a welcoming environment where children, adults, and seniors can engage in collaborative learning, storytelling, and creative activities. The design will balance quiet study areas with interactive zones, encouraging meaningful exchanges between generations.

  • Nature helps enhance a learning environment by benefiting our mental, physical, and cognitive health.

  • According to the Harvard Medical Schools publication Health Watch, your brain can learn and grow even as you age. In the Learning Unity Center, we encourage our seniors to continue their learning through group activities that challenge their minds.

  • The color blue is featured throughout the plan, it has been found to relax and calm minds. Blue also promotes high levels of thought, which is great for our engaging learning environment

  • According to Kristi Nguyen, a registered occupational therapist arts & crafts helps promote the development of fine motor skills, hand and finger strength, eye-hand coordination, and visual motor/visual perception skills.

  • Flexible seating in the Learning Center helps all generations cater to different learning styles, motivate learning, and increase engagement.
